Hello Kitty, Hello Jerome! Jerome Gagner - Turn 7 - Pacific Raceways

I am happy to announce I am now the owner of the “Hello Kitty” Race Bike!
This bike means a lot to me, as it did the original owner. Being Jerome Gagners introduction into racing,  this Suzuki SV650 transformed over the course of several weeks during the 2008 race season without knowledge of Jerome from a Blue Race Bike, to its current state.

It was, and will continue to probably be the largest prank I have ever had the pleasure of orchestrating.

So the question is… Will I still run it with the Pink Body Work?

It is up in the air right now. I may invest into a second set of body work to use for racing. The Hello Kitty body work has become a classic, and I would hate to destroy it in a mishap. But I will most likely run it this year for the sake of saving money.

I look forward to getting her ready for the remainder of the season. She needs some love, as she has been in storage for the last 2 years.

Weekend Wrap-Up: Speed Edition

Although work has been getting the best of me lately, this weekend was another WMRRA round at Pacific Raceways.

I took on managing the PNW Riders Racing Team this year to help them around the pits, critique them, as well as work at getting better exposure for them.

I love going to the track, and I miss being out on it even more.  It is a feeling I can never really describe, except for 10 to 20 minutes of heart pumping adrenaline infused ecstasy.

The reason I stepped up from just doing Track Day’s, to racing is for one thing, and one thing only. That moment when the light goes out, and all hell breaks loose as a flock of bikes scream into turn 1 as fast as they can go.

I race for the starts.  It is by far, one of the most fun aspects of racing, and to this day I never grow tired of it.

Weekend Wrap-Up: The “It’s May” Edition

Exhaust Side Valve Assembly on an XT225

Exhaust Side Valve Assembly on an XT225

May kinda sneaked up while April passed us by.

I’m short a few articles that I meant to write for April. I have about half a dozen articles started, all in various stages that I have yet to finish due to an ongoing chain of events starting at the beginning of the mouth, through the end. As I start writing this wrap-up (It is currently Monday Afternoon, I will most likely finish it up tomorrow night), I realize how I’ve been doing this wrap-ups, without really realizing it.  I just decided to start posting them up to fill in the “blanks” on my weekends, kind of give an idea of what I’ve been working on (if anything), and give you a quick look into what articles you can expect in the future along with my other methods of updating you with Facebook and Twitter.

So without too much more blah blah blah, here is my weekend wrap-up for the start of May!

Weekend Wrap-up: End of April Edition

To start off with, I have a couple articles I need to push out this week. I am actually a couple weeks behind in finishing up a Review as well as another food item recipe.

Last Sunday, I came back from Hood River to a dead desktop computer.  So last weeks article was written on my laptop, and I decided to hold off until I got my main desktop fixed again.

Luckily for me, I keep complete weekly backups of my computers (Daily of my webserver), which allows me to recover from the event of a disaster.

However, it is still a long process.

When I had originally planned this weeks articles this last weekend, I had made plans to write about my new BelStaff Jacket and Pants, to write about my new top box and RotoPax and my new TCX Infinity Gore-Tex boots.

I had planned to write some positive’s, some negatives, and update a couple of my “Rider Review” articles.

Instead, I’m going to take a moment, and write about something else that has been on my mind since Sunday.

While I may have mentioned it once or twice in the past, another passion of mine that I enjoy in the world of Motorcycle’s is Road Racing.

I’m not just talking about watching it, I mean I enjoy doing it.

I have enjoyed competition motor sports since I was a youngen, and I still enjoy it. I enjoy the adrenaline rush one gets when the light goes out, and the madness that follows. It’s an insanity that keeps a rare breed of us sane.

I haven’t spoke a whole lot about it this year, mainly because I had to make the decision early on if I was going to compete this year, or if I was going to take all of my vacation days off instead to do a trip I have been planning for several years.

I chose the trip.

March Roundup!

March is now officially over, and April is here!

Here’s a recap of March if you missed any of it

Weekend Wrap-Up: End of March Edition

Heading out on an impromptu overnight camping trip.

Heading out on an impromptu overnight camping trip.

Well March sure came and went like a breeze.

Last week of course I ordered my new Adventure Riding Gear. I am super excited to start getting it in. The first of it should show up tomorrow (Jacket and Pants).

I also ordered a top box from Happy Trails. I am hoping (fingers crossed), that with this top box, I will be able to pack all the essential items I will need for my trip without having to purchase larger panniers.  I see no reason that it would not work out, as I have now successfully done 2 camping trips (more on that later) with what I have.

The one draw back is I ordered some Roto Pax jugs to originally mount to the rear of the new panniers I was going to buy. Because I was going to originally purchase the 10.5 inch Panniers from Happy Trails, they would have fit perfectly and protected on the very back of them, allowing me to keep an extra gallon of gas on one side, while using the other side for a gallon of water.
