Behind the Visor
“The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences.” -- Eleanor Roosevelt
Growing up on a family farm in Eastern Washington, the primary mode of transportation was a motorcycle.
At the age of 5, I jumped on a little Yamaha PW80, and little did I know then, would be the catalyst of adventures for years to come.
Today, I still ride, and while not early as much as I’d like to, and I’ve been known to take breaks for years at a time.
It is, however, still my favorite way to connect myself with the open road, to see new places, and explore new destinations.
My first major adventure ride outside of the Pacific Northwest. Scheduled departure of June 17th, 2010. Follow along as I plan my route, secure supplies, and prepare for the 17th of June to finally get here.
Return to the Cassiar on a bike named Lara
Six years after my trip north on a bike named Sara, I once again follow the needed north to complete the last 2 days of my Arctic Expedition. Filled with excitement and unknowns over a 6 day Fourth of July holiday taking me to an abandoned town, the Yukon, and Alaska.
Across the Sound is dedicated to my rides throughout the Puget Sound region of Washington State. Composed of day trips, these will take us to small business, on rides around the area, and to points of interest thought the surrounding peninsula and San Juan Islands.
Border Hopping – Destination Series
Border Hopping takes us beyond the borders of Washington State to surrounding states, or our neighboring Country Canada. Border Hopping destinations will most likely always be overnight trips focusing on points of interest and unique business’s.
Crossing County Lines follows the same format as Across the Sound. Trips to Small Business’s, Rides, or to a point of interest, these trips however may be single day trips, or overnight trips as we explore the far reaches of Washington State.
