Do It Yourself: Adventure Food – Cheese Tortellini in Meaty Marinara Sauce

Cheese Tortellini in Meaty Marinara Sauce

Cheese Tortellini in Meaty Marinara Sauce

As I continue to look at different meals to make, I spend a lot of time in the grocery aisles looking for box dinner items that I can utilize in my entrees.

One such item that I came across several months back, was the dry cheese tortellini you find in the pasta section.

While there are different companies who make it, the one I have settled on is Napoleon Brand Cheese Tortellini.

It took me several tries to get things right to where I liked it.

It is meals like this, that people can really spend time customizing to their own needs. So keep that in mind as you read over the ingredients and how I went about preparing this meal. It is this reason that I really have enjoyed making these meals, as they are personalized to my tastes.

Clock is Ticking – Arctic Expedition Almost Here

Departure Day is quickly approaching as I continue to prepare myself for this trip.

I’ve realized, that while I have all the gear to do this trip, I still need to do a bit of clothes shopping and buy some clothes for it, like convertible pants, a good mosquito hat, some more under armor, new synthetic socks and other misc items.

Do to time restraints I have dropped the item of making my own dry bags for the time being. I picked up some heavy PVC style ones from Walmart in Hood River.  They will work for the trip better than the ones I had purchased earlier this year that began to fall apart the first trip I made with them. At least, that is my hope that they will hold up. They are from Walmart.

As the days continue to fly by, I am reminded just how much preparation I have done, and yet how much I am left to do.

It seems, for the most part, that I feel as if I am back 6 months ago, when I decided I was doing this trip.  Even with all of the research, all of the time spent, the supplies purchased, I still feel like I’m a ways off.

It is now time for me to stop over complicating things and just let the day come.

Preview of the Ducati 1200S Multistrada

The Ducati MTS 1200S Multistrada

The Ducati MTS 1200S Multistrada

I was expecting today to end like any other work day. Off from work, coffee with a friend of mine, off to my favorite local Motorsports store, and home to work on some other project.

In fact, I had planned my day just so, to leave from work, grab coffee, hit Eastside Motosports/Ducati Bellevue, and head home to pull the front forks on my XT if time permitted and replace the seals.

Everything was going as planned until I pulled up to Ducati Bellevue.

Out from the store came the Parts Manager Zach Gordon and one of their Sales Associates, Don Beck.

As I stood there, removing my gloves and helmet, they asked if I was busy the rest of the afternoon.

Me, who always considers busy to be something when you’ve made arrangements with others, answered back that I had nothing going on.

With that, Don asks if I want to head up to the mountains and take some pictures.

“Oh What?”, I ask.

“Of That”, Don responds while pointing at the Brand New Ducati Multistrada.

Pinky Rides Again

Hello Kitty, Hello Jerome! Jerome Gagner - Turn 7 - Pacific Raceways

Hello Kitty, Hello Jerome! Jerome Gagner - Turn 7 - Pacific Raceways

I am happy to announce I am now the owner of the “Hello Kitty” Race Bike!
This bike means a lot to me, as it did the original owner. Being Jerome Gagners introduction into racing,  this Suzuki SV650 transformed over the course of several weeks during the 2008 race season without knowledge of Jerome from a Blue Race Bike, to its current state.

It was, and will continue to probably be the largest prank I have ever had the pleasure of orchestrating.

So the question is… Will I still run it with the Pink Body Work?

It is up in the air right now. I may invest into a second set of body work to use for racing. The Hello Kitty body work has become a classic, and I would hate to destroy it in a mishap. But I will most likely run it this year for the sake of saving money.

I look forward to getting her ready for the remainder of the season. She needs some love, as she has been in storage for the last 2 years.

Weekend Wrap-Up: Speed Edition

Although work has been getting the best of me lately, this weekend was another WMRRA round at Pacific Raceways.

I took on managing the PNW Riders Racing Team this year to help them around the pits, critique them, as well as work at getting better exposure for them.

I love going to the track, and I miss being out on it even more.  It is a feeling I can never really describe, except for 10 to 20 minutes of heart pumping adrenaline infused ecstasy.

The reason I stepped up from just doing Track Day’s, to racing is for one thing, and one thing only. That moment when the light goes out, and all hell breaks loose as a flock of bikes scream into turn 1 as fast as they can go.

I race for the starts.  It is by far, one of the most fun aspects of racing, and to this day I never grow tired of it.

Weekend Wrap-Up: The “It’s May” Edition

Exhaust Side Valve Assembly on an XT225

Exhaust Side Valve Assembly on an XT225

May kinda sneaked up while April passed us by.

I’m short a few articles that I meant to write for April. I have about half a dozen articles started, all in various stages that I have yet to finish due to an ongoing chain of events starting at the beginning of the mouth, through the end. As I start writing this wrap-up (It is currently Monday Afternoon, I will most likely finish it up tomorrow night), I realize how I’ve been doing this wrap-ups, without really realizing it.  I just decided to start posting them up to fill in the “blanks” on my weekends, kind of give an idea of what I’ve been working on (if anything), and give you a quick look into what articles you can expect in the future along with my other methods of updating you with Facebook and Twitter.

So without too much more blah blah blah, here is my weekend wrap-up for the start of May!
